"Pairi Daiza, a very imposing neighbour", an investigation by Fiona Collienne and Santos Hevia. With more than two million visitors per year, Pairi Daiza is the first tourist site in Belgium. Located in Hainaut, the animal park has just celebrated its 30th anniversary and continues to grow. A huge tropical greenhouse and water park are under construction. But behind this undeniable economic success, the cohabitation with the surrounding villages is not always simple: mobility problems, rapid urban development, agricultural land purchases. This showcase of Wallonia places the Walloon authorities in front of a double challenge: supporting a flourishing company while respecting the quality of life.

"Young people in distress: the silent emergency", an investigation by Sophie Mergen and Patrick Destiné. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of adolescents with mental health problems has exploded. One in five young people suffer from depression. Suicide has become the leading cause of death among 15-45 year olds. Yet, aid is sorely lacking. Specialized services are overloaded. Psychiatric hospitals are full. In an attempt to stifle their malaise, more and more young people are taking refuge in synthetic drugs and falling into addiction. #Investigation led the investigation. An immersion into the taboo world of psychiatry, and heart-wrenching encounters with young people and their parents.

"Doctors in training: abuse under the radar", an investigation by Tristan Godaert and Guillaume Wollner Moral or sexual harassment, pressure, humiliation, many specialists at the end of their training live a real hell. These future great health professionals have dared to testify, sometimes with their faces uncovered. Through their poignant testimony, they denounce these abuses in our hospitals, where the law of silence usually prevails for fear of reprisals. #Investigation has been particularly interested in the Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc, one of the most important hospitals in the country.

“Abortion: between rights and battle”. The magazine #investigation looks into an essential freedom for women that is increasingly under threat: the right to abortion. In Belgium, many family planning clinics are no longer able to perform abortions on a regular basis due to a lack of qualified doctors. We will look at the intensifying pro-life lobbying in several European countries, from Italy to Poland, where an activist has been convicted for sending abortion pills to a woman in distress. The strategy is not to ban abortion, but to make access to it virtually impossible.

“Family planning: at the heart of choices”. In Belgium, the majority of abortions are performed in family planning clinics. To better understand what is at stake, we followed the team at a family planning clinic in Liège for seven days. You will discover from the inside how a multidisciplinary team provides essential support to these women in distress.

Ferrero: the little secrets of the chocolate giant, an investigation by Nicolas de Labareyre, Julien Mercier, and Evan Caron. Thanks to its flagship products Nutella and Kinder, the Ferrero family has built a veritable chocolate empire over three generations. But three years ago, at its factory in Arlon, the multinational company experienced the worst health crisis in its history. Across Europe, dozens of children fell ill after consuming Kinder products contaminated with salmonella. What happened? Did the company turn a blind eye to the shortcomings in order to protect its business? Based on previously unpublished documents, you will discover the ins and outs of this case. The investigation will also take us to Turkey, where producers of hazelnuts, an essential ingredient in Nutella, employ child labor. Chocolate at all costs, an investigation by Quentin Ceuppens and Alain Van Belleghem For the past two years, serious shortages have affected Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana, the world's two largest cocoa producers. Harvests are poorer and, inevitably, prices are soaring. As a result, manufacturers are relocating and restructuring, while artisan chocolatiers fear for their future. From tasting rooms to plantations in Côte d'Ivoire, #Investigation has traced the journey of cocoa from farm to bar.

“Trichloramine: like poison in the water". An investigation by Marie Bourguignon and Charlotte Collin. Is the air in our swimming pools toxic? We have known for over 20 years that a gas called trichloramine, which is produced by chlorine, is present in our pools. In high doses, it can be dangerous to health, especially for young children. Standards have been set to limit the presence of this gas in our swimming pools. But in Belgium, the authorized standards remain very high compared to other European countries. Although air checks are mandatory, some establishments sometimes deviate from the rule.

“Psychedelics: trip on prescription.” An investigation by Jean-Christophe Adnet and Adrien Lasserre. LSD, hallucinogenic mushrooms, ecstasy. Will these psychedelic drugs one day be used in our country to treat mental disorders? In Belgium, more and more psychiatrists are campaigning to be able to prescribe them in certain cases to patients suffering from depression. Switzerland already uses this type of treatment with surprising results.
